Ellington won the fourth annual Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon on Sunday
with a come from behind win.
The former Vol-standout trailed the two leaders by nearly 3 minutes halfway through the race. He gradually gained ground until he caught the lead pack with two miles to go. Stewart's conservative pace early on gave him enough energy late to surge past the leaders and win by almost a minute in 2:28:36. The Runners Market team and staff, the Knoxville Track Club, and the entire running community of Knoxville are proud of Stewart's accomplishment. |
