Brooks Ghost 6

The light, bouncy, and balanced ride of the Ghost has haunted the dreams of many competitors — and it’s about to get frighteningly good. Brooks has taken the transition from silky to ridiculously smooth by removing the midfoot shank and creating full ground contact from heel to toe. The underfoot gets even more love with a horseshoe Caterpillar Crash Pad that wraps the heel from medial to lateral sides and articulates the laydown. Looking as good as it feels, runners will fall in love with this friendly ghost.

Altra Torin

Experience a stable and comfortable run with the Torin Altra’s newest lightweight, max-cushioned core training shoe. Two-layer AltraBound cushioning returns energy back into each stride and reduces impact on hard surfaces. The MetaPod outsole maps the bones and tendons of the human foot for a natural flex and superior traction. ZeroDrop Technology allows you to run the way you were born—placing your heel and forefoot the same distance from the ground for natural posture, more power and better running technique.

Brooks Cascadia 8

The Cascadia 8 was designed from the gritty, wet, and uneven ground up. Engineered to adapt to the surface and your foot, this versatile piece of equipment runs an ultra-marathon, then asks for more. Brooks swapped out the midsole for BioMoGo DNA to create a super cohesive transition and deluxe-ified the Caterpillar Crash Pad on the lateral side to smooth that heel-to-toe even more. The suede geometric pattern on the upper is a shout-out to past Cascadia designs but also serves the function of wrapping the foot for a close fit.

Altra Lone Peak

Inspired by the Lone Peak, one of the rockiest, toughest mountains on the Wasatch Range in Utah, The Lone Peak was designed to conquer the toughest terrain out there. While the foot-shaped design allows athletes to stay relaxed and comfortable for hours, this do-everything mountain shoe promotes happy feet, increases ankle stabilization and improves form with the Zero Drop platform. The Lone Peak features an innovative, sandwiched StoneGuard system that deflects rocks into the midsole for a smoother, more stable ride.

Brooks Beast ’12

Sturdy and supportive, these leading Control shoes perfect the blend of comfort and stability. The Caterpillar Crash Pad delivers flexibility underfoot without sacrificing assurance, a midsole stability web brings more integrity to the foam on the upper without added weight, and full-length Brooks DNA delivers adaptable cushioning to every unique stride.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13

Lucky 13 is Brooks’ best Adrenaline GTS yet. They paid special attention to the underfoot flex by adding Omega Flex Grooves and continuing Omni Grooves in the forefoot, allowing the outsole to bend and shape naturally. Continuing with the tradition of a tailored fit, stretch eyelets lock into the medial side to capture the foot better and technologies like Flextra and anatomical Brooks DNA deliver customized stability and cushion.

Runner’s World named the GTS 13 Editor’s Choice in the Fall Shoe Guide in their December 2012 issue. They call the GTS 13 a “classic stability shoe”, and quoted one wear tester as saying, “it’s soft enough that you can feel the road surface below, but there’s enough padding that you don’t feel as though you’re running on concrete blocks.”

Garmin Forerunner 10

“Upon hearing that Garmin was releasing a smaller-sized and lower-priced GPS watch, I was ecstatic! As a graduate student, most GPS watches were out of my budget range, plus many were much too large for my small wrists, but the Forerunner 10 has been the perfect fit! In addition to the accommodating size, the Forerunner 10 is very user friendly and easy to set up. It syncs with Garmin Connect, which allows me to keep track of all my runs and maps in one place. To put it simply: the price is right and it looks great! If you’re thinking about getting a GPS watch, the Forerunner 10 is the way to go!”

110% Double Life Shin/Calf Sleeves

“I’ll admit that I was skeptical about using compression gear, but after trying these calf sleeves I became a firm believer in the benefits that compression can provide. These sleeves are a combination of old and new…the age old remedy of icing after a workout combined with the new, innovative technology of compression, which aids in circulation. Pulling on the sleeves after a run and sliding in the ice packs is an easy and efficient way to speed up my recovery and keep my muscles feeling good day after day. I have also used them for heat therapy in the evenings by microwaving the packs for 20-30 seconds before sliding them into the sleeves. Before, during, after, ice, heat, compression…these sleeves do it all!”
